Ground Works

As seen in the cross section below drainage is the essential of any surface and attention to detail is our speciality. Clean stone and the use of the specialist geotextile membrane assures years of trouble free usage. It is false economy to allow a local general building firm to lay the foundations for your arena. Although initially it may appear to be cheaper, if it doesn’t work it is very expensive to rectify, as many dissatisfied customers have experienced to their cost.

Laying of sub base

A geotextile membrane is fitted between the soil and the stone sub base. Lining the internal drainage channels is a 80mm perforated drainage pipe filled and backfilled with clean stone and rolled into place. A non-woven geotextile membrane is glued or taped into place between the sub base and the riding surface.

Fencing

All fencing posts are set into position as part of the construction process. All the timber we use is pressure tanalised for maximum longevity and all the gate furniture is galvanised. Our aim is to provide you with an arena that remains in good condition and aesthetic to the eye for many years to come.

Arena Surface

Whether you are having a new arena built or an existing arena resurfaced we will discuss with you the many alternative surfaces that are available. The wide choice of equestrian arena surfaces; sand, rubber, PVC granules, wood bark, fully waxed surfaces, means you may find it difficult to decide which is best for your requirements. We don’t manufacture any surfaces ourselves so can give you a completely independent point of view based on our many years of experience. We can source surface materials from leading manufacturers for you at very competitive rates.
